Description

Kristine Woods, Media Specialist, at Teasley Middle School in Cherokee County, says, “GALILEO provides our students with scholarly resources that educators can trust. Students are able to find reliable information efficiently, on topic and on the appropriate reading level for comprehension.

Availability of the GALILEO databases throughout the spectrum of elementary to collegiate levels provides a continuity of experience for the students as they can constantly build on prior knowledge of the resources as they mature from elementary to middle to high school student and then transition to the collegiate level aligning with P-16 educative learning goals.

GALILEO access also provides professional development resources. I was able to redirect media funds into book resources as I minimized professional journal subscriptions due to the availability of the journals through the online databases of GALILEO.

Access to GALILEO throughout the state allows a more democratic access to information for all users so that the less fortunate are able to benefit from the same information access as the most progressive systems.”
